"Goals are dreams with deadlines" -- Diana Scharf

Hi!  I'm J.W., the self-proclaimed "woman with a plan."  Welcome to this blog about my personal finances and past-times.  I’m a twenty-something newlywed and young professional living outside of New York City.  That's me with my husband, Mr. W.  I'm the one with the snazzy shoes.

I’ve always had a hands-on approach to how I handle my finances: I enjoying thinking about how to save money, how to spend it, and how to prepare for the future.  However, earning and saving money is not the end goal.  Rather, financial stability enables us to achieve our personal goals.  Using this viewpoint, I try to strike a balance between planning for a rainy day and enjoying the present.  In my experience, developing a sense of financial literacy has been extremely empowering, especially as a woman.  I started this blog as a way to share my financial goals and personal finance perspective with those who are interested (that's you, I hope!)  Plus, my husband can only stand so much "money talk" before his eyes start to glaze over.

Besides number-crunching, I also enjoy baking, cooking, crafting, and reading.

As you can probably guess, I'm glad you're here.  Thanks for reading!
